Finding Your Voter Registration and Polling Place

You can access the Lookup Voter Registration page to find your voter registration and and the Lookup Polling Place page to find your polling place. You must provide your county of residence, last name, first name, and date of birth to locate your voter registration and polling place. If your voter registration is not found, the system displays a message informing you to contact your County Voter Registration Office for assistance.

The Lookup Voter Registration page is displayed.

Click the find polling place link near the top of the web page.

The Lookup Polling Place page is displayed.

Select your county of residence from the county drop-down list box.

Tip: You can jump to a specific place within a drop-down list box using keyboard keys. First, click the arrow on the right side of the drop-down list box to display its values. Press the home key to display the first value in the list. Press the end key to display the last value in the list. Press a letter key (A-Z) to display the first value in the list that begins with that letter. For example, pressing the m key displays the first value in the drop-down list box that begins with the letter M.

Type your last name in the last name field (e.g., smith, Smith, SMITH).

Type your first name in the first name field (e.g., john, John, JOHN).

Type your date of birth in the date of birth field (e.g., MM/DD/CCYY).

Tip: To select a date from the calendar, click the calendar icon and select the desired date.

Click the find button.

Tip: To clear the search criteria to perform a new search, click the clear button.

To search by driver's license number, click the driver's license number radio button and type your 9-digit BMV-issued driver's license number in the driver's license number field.

To search by SSN, click the last 4 digits of social security number radio button and type the last 4 digits of your SSN in the last 4 digits of social security number field.

To search by state ID, click the state identification number radio button and type your 9-digit BMV-issued state ID number in the state identification number field.

View the status of your absentee application and/or ballot...	Click the plus sign (+) to the left of the Absentee heading. The Absentee section is expanded. Select the election for which to view absentee information from the election drop-down list box. Your absentee application and ballot information is displayed.

In the table below are definitions for the fields and buttons on the Lookup Voter Registration page, organized alphabetically by section.

Search by Voter Registration Section
Clear Button	Removes the data from all the search criteria fields to allow you to conduct a new search.
County	The county in which you reside. Valid values are provided in a drop-down list box.
Date of Birth	Your date of birth. The field format is MM/DD/CCYY.
Driver's License Number	Your 9-digit BMV-issued driver's license number. This field is visible only if more than one record matched your search criteria.
Driver's License Number Radio Button	Indicates you want to search by your 9-digit BMV-issued driver's license number. This button is visible only if more than one record matched your search criteria.
First Name	Your first name. This field is not case-sensitive. You can type all lowercase, mixed case, or uppercase (e.g., john, John, JOHN).
Find Button	Initiates a search for a voter registration record based on the specified search criteria.
Last 4 Digits of Social Security Number	The last four digits of your social security number. This field is visible only if more than one record matched your search criteria.
Last Name	Your last name. This field is not case-sensitive. You can type all lowercase, mixed case, or uppercase (e.g., smith, Smith, SMITH).
State Identification Number	Your 9-digit BMV-issued state ID number. The BMV issues you a state ID if you don't have a BMV-issued driver's license and you request a photo identification card. This field is visible only if more than one record matched your search criteria.
State Identification Number Radio Button	Indicates you want to search by your BMV-issued state ID number. This button is visible only if more than one record matched your search criteria.
Search Results Section
Additional Documentation Required	Indicates if you are required to provide additional documentation prior to voting. For example, if you submitted a registration application by mail and had not previously voted in a general election in your county as of the date your registration application is received, you must provide additional identification documentation to the county voter registration office prior to voting. The identification documentation required may be either your: Current and valid photo identification; or Current utility bill, bank statement, government check, paycheck, or government document that shows your name and registration address. The ID requirements do not apply if you: Are an absent military or overseas voter; Are entitled to vote absentee under federal law; or Provided your driver's license number or the last four digits of your SSN on your registration application and the county voter registration office or election division matches your ID to an existing state ID record.
County	The county in which you reside.
Date of Status	The date your voter registration was assigned its current status.
Precinct	Your voting precinct.
Residential Address	The address where you reside. Included are the first two lines of the address (e.g., street, P.O. box), city, state, and ZIP code.
Status	The status of your voter registration. Valid values are: Not Registered — You are not registered to vote. Registered — You are registered to vote.
Status Reason	The reason the status of your voter registration is not registered. This field is visible only if your voter registration is not registered. Valid reasons may be that your registration application is: Being processed — You will receive correspondence if the Voter Registration Office needs additional information from you to complete processing. In a seven day waiting period — If you present identification in person, the seven day period is waived. Canceled — You will receive correspondence indicating why your registration is canceled. Rejected — You will receive correspondence indicating why your registration is rejected.
Township	Your voting township.
Voter Name	Your full name, displayed as first name, middle initial, last name, and suffix (e.g., John M. Doe, Jr.). This field is visible only if you cast a provisional ballot.
Polling Place Section
Facility	The name of the facility where your polling place is located.
Facility Address	The address where your polling place is located.
Get Driving Directions	A link that opens the mapping web site to allow you to obtain directions to your polling place.
Accessibility Information Section
Accessibility Restrictions	The poll location's accessibility restrictions and the date surveyed. Description - A description of the poll location's accessibility restriction (e.g., no wheelchair access). Survey Date - The date the poll location was surveyed to determine accessibility restrictions.
ADA Comment	Additional information regarding the poll location's compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
ADA Compliant	Indicates if the poll location complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Provisional Ballot Section
Election	The election for which you have a provisional ballot. This field is visible only if you cast a provisional ballot.
Outcome Date	The date the decision was made as to whether your provisional ballot counts as a vote. This field is visible only if you cast a provisional ballot.
Primary Vote Type	The primary election office for which you cast a vote. This field is visible only if you cast a provisional ballot and the election is a primary election.
Reason Not Counted	The reason your provisional ballot was not counted (e.g., invalid registration). This field is visible only if you cast a provisional ballot that wasn't counted.
Status	The status of your provisional ballot. This field is visible only if you cast a provisional ballot. Valid values are: Counted — Your provisional ballot was counted. Not Counted — Your provisional ballot was not counted; a reason is provided. Partially Counted — Your provisional ballot was partially counted.
County Election Board Contact Information Section
Facility	The name of the facility where the County Election Board is located.
Mailing Address	The mailing address of the County Election Board.
Phone	The County Election Board's telephone number.
County Voter Registration Office Contact Information Section
Email	The County Voter Registration Office's email address.
Facility	The name of the facility where your County Voter Registration Office is located.
Facility Address	The address where your County Voter Registration Office is located.
Fax	The County Voter Registration Office's fax number.
Phone	The County Voter Registration Office's telephone number.
Districts Section
Districts	Your voting districts, which include statewide, township, congressional, state senate, state house, county commissioner, county council, municipality, and school.
Absentee Section
Election	The election for which to display absentee application and ballot information. Valid values are provided in a drop-down list box.
Receipt Date (Application)	The date the absentee application was received from the voter. The field format is MM/DD/CCYY.
Received by Method (Application)	The method by which the absentee application was received from the voter (e.g., mail, fax).
Receipt Date (Ballot)	The date the absentee ballot was received from the voter. The field format is MM/DD/CCYY.
Received by Method (Ballot)	The method by which the absentee ballot was received from the voter (e.g., mail, fax).
Sent Date	The date the absentee ballot was sent to the voter. The field format is MM/DD/CCYY.
Sent Method	The method by which an absentee ballot was sent to a voter (e.g., mail, fax).
